Ford 6000 CD Radio Code

There is no universal code for the Ford 6000 CD. Every unit has its own four-digit code, tied to its own serial number. Lists of “universal” or “master” codes do not unlock it — and each wrong code is an attempt the radio counts.

Get the serial without removing the radio. Switch the radio on so it shows CODE or LOCKED, then hold presets 1 and 6 together for about two seconds. On some units it is 2 and 6. The screen shows a serial starting with M or V.

M or V — we answer both. M serials are calculated from the number itself; V serials are looked up in our database, and if yours is not there the page says so before you leave any details.

The 6000 CD was fitted to the Focus, Fiesta and Transit from the late 1990s on. Enter your M or V serial on the Ford page.

Questions

Is there a universal code for the Ford 6000 CD?

No. Each unit has its own code, tied to its own serial. “Universal” codes waste attempts.

How do I find my Ford 6000 CD serial?

Turn the radio on, then hold presets 1 and 6 (on some units 2 and 6) for about two seconds. The serial starting with M or V appears on the screen.

The sticker has a Z or A number — is that the serial?

No. On Ford units the serial is the M or V number the radio shows on its screen, not the Z or A number on the sticker.
