Car Radio Code Calculator

A factory radio code is not random. For most units it is calculated from the radio’s own serial number, and for the rest it sits in a database keyed by that serial. That is what this calculator does: you give it the serial from your unit, and it gives back the code the factory set.

Why not a “code generator”? Tools that generate codes without your serial are guessing. Every wrong guess counts as an attempt, and most units lock for good after about ten wrong attempts. A code worked out from your serial is right the first time or not offered at all.

How it works. Pick your make below. Each make’s page shows what its serial looks like and where it is printed; type it in and the page tells you straight away whether we can answer it — before you leave any details.

What it costs. Every code we can answer is free: we email it 24 hours after you order. If you need your music back today, a small fee skips the wait and the code appears on screen at once. Why it is free.

Questions

Is the radio code calculator really free?

Yes. Every code we can answer is free and emailed 24 hours after you order. The only thing you can pay for is skipping that wait.

What if my serial is not covered?

The page tells you before you leave your email, and nothing is charged. A code we cannot work out is never guessed.

Can I just try codes until one works?

No — most units lock for good after about ten wrong attempts. Work from the serial, not from guesses or code lists.

Where is the serial number?

On most units it is on a label on the casing, so the radio has to come out; some show it on the screen. Where to find your radio serial number.
