Land Rover radios unlocked online — from the serial on the Visteon or Becker unit.
Most Land Rover radios of the 2000s — the 6500 CD and the Freelander CD units — were made by Visteon, and their serial is an M followed by six digits. Type the M too, and do not add or drop digits to make it fit.
Some cars carry a Becker unit instead, the Traffic Pro in particular, with an eight-character serial. Both labels are on the casing, so the unit normally has to come forward out of the dash to read them.
A longer number with letters through it is a part number, not the serial.
Land Rover is free for now: a share unlocks the code and we ask you whether it worked.
