Hyundai radios unlocked online — the code comes from the serial number printed on the unit.
The label is on the top or side of the unit, so the radio has to come forward out of the dash. Most Hyundai units are held by four screws behind the trim.
On the label is a barcode with two numbers under it: one after (01) and one after (21). The code is built from the last four digits of the (21) number — those four are all we need. Which unit is fitted the label does not say, so the form asks you that separately.
Which four digits. On a label reading (01) 1 880 912179 0017 (21) 09 11 0769 the answer is 0769. Numbers with letters sitting inside the digits — A2C53354153, 961401G000 — are part numbers, and no code can be worked out from them.
Why we ask which unit you have. Hyundai fitted two families whose codes are built differently from the same four digits, and the label alone does not say which. That one question in the form is the difference between a right answer and a coin toss — the manufacturer tools ask exactly the same thing. Picked the wrong one? Tell us and we will send the other.
If your label has no (21) number and instead reads something like BS0212050057403, that is a different unit and we cannot work it out yet — the form will tell you so rather than guess. Email us a photo of the label if you are not sure which number is which.
The four digits at the end of the (21) number are the key — copy those.
