Only needed for a Becker unit — an 8-character serial. Look at the display and count the dashes it shows for the code; if it wants five digits, count the numbered buttons you actually press to enter them, not the ones on the panel.

How to Find your Nissan Radio Code

What we answer today: the Bosch label. The Micra K12 and other older Nissans carry a Bosch unit whose serial starts BP and is 14 characters long, e.g. BP538469472624. That serial alone gets an answer on the spot — no device number, no date.

Nissan Connect touchscreens — not yet. These give up their numbers only after a lockout: three wrong codes in a row lock the unit for 60 minutes, and the lock screen lists a device number, a serial and a date. We cannot turn those into a code today, and we prefer to tell you here rather than after you have typed in your email.

Daewoo units — not yet either. Their serial, Prod No. and date are on the sticker at the back of the radio, but we cannot turn them into a code today.

Clarion units — not yet either. A Clarion label carries a number like PN-3000P-A; that is the device number, not a serial. The CL serial printed next to it is not one we can decode yet, and we would rather say it now than after you have taken the dash apart.

Appears only after a lockout: device number, serial and date on one screen.

Daewoo sticker label

Serial, Prod No. and date — read all three off the back of the unit.

Clarion device number not yet

A PN-3000P-A style number marks a Clarion. Neither it nor the CL serial beside it gives us a code today — this family is not one we have worked out.

How to Enter your Nissan Radio Code

  1. Switch the radio on — the display shows CODE. If it shows SECURITY instead, the radio is waiting for the car’s key, not for a code: tell us before entering anything.
  2. Bosch/Blaupunkt units (label BP…): press preset 1 until the first digit is right, then presets 2, 3 and 4 the same way.
  3. Confirm with TA — the K12 Micra and E11 Note have no preset 6. Where the unit does have a 6 (CD-changer models), a long press on 6 confirms instead. Don’t try other keys at random.
  4. After three wrong codes the radio locks for an hour with a countdown: leave it switched on — switching off restarts the hour, and repeated lockouts make it permanent.
  5. Nissan Connect touchscreens: type the code on the screen and confirm.
