Radio names are what is written on the fascia, not the name of the company that built the unit — a “6000 CD” or an “RCD 300” is what you see in the car. Unit fitment varies by market and trim, so treat the list as the usual case and let the serial decide: it is the serial that determines the code, not the model.

Toyota RAV4 radio code by year

From 2005 to 2018 the RAV4 came with the radios below; the serial on the unit is what decides the code.

Toyota RAV4 XA30/XA40 JDM import radio code (2005–2018)

On RAV4 cars from 2005–2018 the radio fitted was usually one of: NHZN-W60G, NSZT-W62G, NSCP-W61 and other Japanese navigation units. The serial reads 16-character ERC; hold the main button and switch the parking lights on and off 3-4 times, then press the one active button. We can work it out, and while the rule behind it is still being confirmed the code is free — all we ask is that you tell us whether it fitted.

How to enter the code in your RAV4

  1. An ERC code is 8 characters and is typed on the touchscreen with the keys A–F and 1–9; then press 完了 (complete).
  2. Open the ERC screen and send us the 16 characters it shows, not the number on the label — watch 0/O and 8/B.
  3. Button radios that show SEC use a code the owner set; it can’t be worked out from a serial.

Careful: most units lock for good after about ten wrong attempts. If a code does not take, stop and email us before trying again.
